Marin Roughride 2010
For 2010 the eighth Marin Roughride is on June 13th, the same weekend as last year.
Entries are initially up yet again by 20% in the first week.
The Marin Roughride is a moorland route with less road than any other event in England
and Wales. Good relations with local landowners allow the organisers to use miles of
tracks not normally open to riders.
This is a wilderness long distance ride for around 1,000 riders, on well flagged ancient
routes in the Welsh borders. Everyone is out to enjoy themselves, singly and as a group.
The achievement is to finish. The marshalls are there to help you do just that.
For more info click here or visit the Marin Roughride website here. Also, spot the SUMBC member in the bottom photo!
Winter Ride Times!
Now the clocks have gone back, Sunday rides now start at 1pm! Wednesday rides remain at 2pm, since some people will have lectures. The earlier start on Sundays gives us more riding time.
Membership!
Just a friendly reminder that if you get your membership forms and money to the committee by the 31st October, you will get a free tshirt! (Looking something like this) Also, you will not be allowed on trips and races (including the upcoming Afan trip, and the Gorrick/UKBP races) unless you are a full member and owe the club no money. Remember, club membership means you get discounts from our sponsors, cheap trips and races, limited medical insurance, and many other advantages. Other universities pay over £70 for mountainbike club membership, the most we ask is £30 for full race membership and AU membership!
Membership Forms
You can download the membership form in two versions, one for lifetime AU members (you will know who you are) HERE and one for everyone else (pretty much everyone) HERE.
